Biography

Charles Ernest Davies (SN 1455) born at Ballarat, was a 19 year old carpenter when he enlisted at Ballarat on July 6th 1915. On October 29th he embarked aboard the Palermo and sailed to Egypt. He served in the Middle East with the 4th Light Horse Regiment and with 4th Light Horse Brigade Headquarters. He avoided major injury or illness and returned to Australia on the Norman, disembarked at Melbourne on August 18th 1919 and was discharged on October 10th. He also served during WW2 with service number V353876.
