Biography

Thomas Elliott (SN 4183) born in Ballarat, was a married 33 year old iron moulder when he enlisted in Ballarat in July 1915. On December 29th he embarked aboard the Demosthenes and sailed to Egypt to serve with the 14th Infantry Battalion. He was troubled by bronchitis, eventually diagnosed as bronchial asthma. It was decided he was no longer fit for active service, and he was returned to Australia aboard the Port Sydney and was discharged ‘asthma’ on October 15th 1916.
