John Joseph Kelleher enlisted in Melbourne, Victoria at the age of 25 on the 6th of July 1915. He had been born in Cork, Ireland, was single, and was employed as a Sampleman. He volunteered and was stationed with the 5th Battalion, 10th Reinforcements with the Regimental number 3167. He was discharged and Returned to Australia on the 11th of January 1917.
Lucas’s Staffs Appreciation of Brave Men, the original Avenue register, records his name as John J. Kellegher.
