Biography

Michael Joseph Gavin was born in Ballarat East and enlisted from there on 7th July 1915. He was 20 years old, single and a labourer. While in the trenches in the Corbie area he was wounded severely on 4th December and was evacuated to the 36th Casualty Clearing Station where he died on 16th December 1916. He is buried in the Heilly Station Cemetery, France.
