Biography

Ernest Alexander Trahar was born in Ballarat East, Victoria, was single and a Student when he enlisted with the 2nd Casualty Clearing Station, 4th Reinforcement on 7 July 1915 at the age of 19. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A18 Wiltshire on 7 March 1916. His tour, however, was brief and he returned home to Australia on 22 February 1917 for medical discharge due to bronchitis.

His brother, Pte Charles Alexander TRAHAR, Australian Army Medical Corps Details, returned to Australia, 16 October 1916. (Tree No. 1390)
