Biography

John Wyatt Goad (SN 3288) was born in Ballarat and attended the Macarthur Street State School. He enlisted from July 7th 1915 at which time he was 22 years old, single, and a storeman. He joined the 5th Infantry Battalion and sailed from Australia in October on board the Nestor. He was killed in action near Pozieres on the 25th July 1916. He has no known grave and his name is recorded on the Australian Memorial at Villers-Bretonneux, France. He was 23 years of age.
