Biography

Stanley Rupert Pascoe was born in Ballarat and was a Clerk by trade when he enlisted in the 8th Light Horse Regiment, 11th Reinforcement on 8 July 1915 at the age of 18. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT SS Hawkes Bay on 21 October 1915. He joined the 8th Light Horse Regiment in April 1916 and aside from a couple of bouts of tonsillitis he came through the war unharmed physically. He returned to Australia on the Morvada and disembarked at Melbourne on August 25th 1919.
