Alfred James Dunne enlisted in Ballarat, Victoria at the age of 21 on the 8th of July 1915. He had been born in Ballarat, Victoria, was single, and was employed as a Blacksmith. He volunteered and was stationed with the 23rd Battalion, 10th Reinforcement with the Regimental number 4255 . He was Medically Discharged on the 30th of December 1915, due to being diagnosed with Middle Ear Disease. Tree number 843.
