Biography

Ernest John Cravino (SN 618) was born in Ballarat and was a 19 year old draper when he enlisted in Ballarat on July 8th 1915. He joined the 31st Infantry Battalion and left Australia in November on board the Wandilla. He was posted to France in June 1916 and had transferred to the 8th Infantry Brigade Machine Gun Company when he was killed in action during the fighting at Gueudecourt, France, on November 23rd 1916. He was 21 years old and is buried in the Guards Cemetery at Les Boeufs, France.
