Ernest John Cravino enlisted in Ballarat on 8th July 1915.He was 19 years old, single and a Draper. He was born in Ballarat. He joined the 31st Infantry Battalion, with Regimental No. 618. Later he transferred to the 8th Infantry Brigade Machine Gun Company. He was killed in action during the fighting at Gueudecourt, France, on 23rd November 1916. He is buried in the Guards Cemetery at Les Boeufs, France.
