Biography

Charles Gordon Pascoe was a Contractor in Ballarat when he enlisted in the 5th Battalion, 2nd Reinforcement as a 2nd Lieutenant. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A46 Clan Macgillivray on 2 February 1915. Three days later, while in Dardanelles, he suffered a gunshot wound to the right foot and was transferred to the 1st Australian general Hospital in Heliopolis. He was granted three months leave to Australia and embarked upon the Hospital Ship Themistocles on 15 August 1915 and was subsequently awarded a medical discharge.
