Gertrude Evelyn Munro enlisted as a Sister in the Australian Army Nursing Service on 22nd June 1916. She was born in Alfredton, was single and 34 years old. She was posted to the 42nd General Hospital at Salonika in Greece, supporting the British Forces fighting in Turkey. She died of malaria and pneumonia on 10th October 1918, and is buried in Mikra British Cemetery, Kalimaria, Greece.
