Mary Morrow was born in Ballarat and trained as a nurse at the Ballarat Base Hospital. She was aged 32 when she joined the Australian Army Nursing Service on August 17th 1915. She left Australia aboard the Mooltan on December 26th and disembarked at Bombay in India. She served at hospitals in India until the Armistice was signed and she was withdrawn to England. She returned to Australia aboard the Wyreema, disembarked on May 31st 1919 and her appointment was terminated on March 29th 1920.
