A nurse by trade, Nellie Alicia Keane was 31 years old and single when she enlisted on the 26th of December 1916. Her unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A32 Themistocles on the 29th of December 1916.
She was appointed Sister on the 26th of December 1918.
On the 25th of November 1919, Nellie returned to Australia and on the 21st of February 1920 her appointment was terminated.
