Biography

John Whidburn, a Daylesford-born Butcher, enlisted in the No. 2 Field Ambulance on 18 August 1914 at the age of 37 years. He was promoted to Corporal on 28 September 1914 before being transferred to hospital due to illness. He was later transferred to England aboard the "Lumbago" with rheumatism. Cpl Whidburn received a medical discharge on 15 June 1916.
