Biography

Clement Lockhart Moore (SN 4257) was born in Ballarat where he enlisted in July 1915. The 36 year old was married and working as a carpenter when he joined the 14th Battalion. The following December, along with his twin brother, he embarked from Melbourne aboard the Demosthenes. He arrived in France in June 1916 but, less than four weeks later, he was killed in action at Bois Grenier on July 3rd 1916. He has no known grave but his name is recorded on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.

His twin brother Ina was also killed in the same battle and is honoured with a tree in the Avenue.
