Biography

Albert Victor Gordon, a labourer from Ballarat, enlisted in the 5th Infantry Battalion on 18 August 1914 at the age of 32. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board Transport A3 Orvieto on 21 October 1914. He was hospitalised briefly for a dislocated shoulder on 18 October 1915 and later wounded in action on 25 July 1916 with an injury to the ankle. He eventually was discharged as medically unfit with rheumatism on 30 April 1918.
