Biography

Maurice Albert Thistlewaite was born in Koroit and enlisted from there on 17th August 1914. He was 19 years old, unmarried, and an auctioneer's assistant. He joined the 8th Infantry Battalion, with Regimental No. 458. He was promoted to Corporal during his service. On 2nd April 1918 he died of wounds inflicted at Wychatte, Belgium, and is buried in Irish House Cemetery, Heuvelland, Belgium.
