Biography

Born in Ballarat, Herbert Lindley Hicks was a single 25 year old fireman when he enlisted on the 16th of July 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A11 Ascanius on the 10th of November 1915.
On March 3rd 1916, he was taken on strength with the 28th Company, Australian Army Service Corps.
Herbert returned to Australia on the 7th of May 1919 and was discharged due to the termination of his enlistment period on the 29th of June 1919.
