Biography

Peter Timothy O'Keefe, born in Ballarat, was a labourer by trade when he enlisted in the A.I.F on the 28th of July 1915. He was 23 when his unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A38 Ulysses on the 27th of October 1915.
On the 27th of July 1916 he was admitted to hospital after being wounded in action, suffering from a gunshot wound to his right shoulder. He was discharged from hospital on the 30th of September 1916. On November 21st 1917 Peter was admitted to hospital again, this time suffering from pleurisy. He embarked from England on the 30th of January 1918 per the A14 Euripides and disembarked in Australia on the 21st of March 1918. He was discharged as medically unfit on the 27th of April 1918.
