John O'Keefe, a labourer by trade, was 24 years old when he enlisted in the A.I.F on the 28th of July 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A38 Ulysses on the 27th of October 1915. He returned to Australia on the 15th of May 1919 and was discharged due to the termination of his enlistment period on the 6th of July 1919.
