Biography

Born in Hartwell, Victoria and a labourer by trade, Edward Harris Bolwell was 42 years and single when enlisted on the 5th of March 1916 in the 2nd Pioneer Battalion, Reinforcement 6, Australian Imperial Force, with the rank of Private, Number 2825. His Unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A17 'Port Lincoln' on the 20th of October 1916. On the 15th of December 1917 was listed as returned to Australia per 'Port Lyttleton' for discharge æSenility' and discharged from the 3rd Military District on the 23rd of January 1918. Tree No.2202
