Biography

Robert Hession was a single 32 year old coach trimmer at the time of his enlistment on the 20th of April 1916. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A54 Runic on the 20th of June 1916.
On the 6th of June 1917 Robert was promoted to Lance Corporal, he was then promoted to Corporal on the 13th of December 1917.
On August 31st 1918, Robert was wounded in action; he was invalided to the U.K with a gunshot wound to his right arm. He rejoined his unit on the 3rd of November 1918.
Robert returned to Australia on the 12th of June 1919 and was discharged on the 27th of July 1919 due to the termination of his enlistment period.
