Charles Francis Vaughan enlisted in Ballarat, Victoria at the age of 19 on the 9th of June 1916. He had been born in Ballarat, Victoria, was single, and was employed as a Clerk. He volunteered and was stationed with the 39th Battalion, 3rd Reinforcement later transferring to the Australian Army Pay Corps as Regimental number 2163. He was discharged and Returned to Australia on the 12th of June 1919. Tree number 2412.
