Biography

George Herbert Wormald was a single 24 year old coachpainter at the time of his enlistment on the 9th of July 1915. His Unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board RMS Moldavia on the 5th of October 1915.
On the 18th of August 1916 he was wounded in action in France with Shell Shock.
On the 14th of May 1919 George returned to Australia and was discharged as medically unfit on the 2nd of December 1919 after being gassed.

His brother James also served in the AIF and is honoured with a tree in the Avenue.
