Henry Roy Edwards was born in Ballarat West. He was 21 years old, single, and living in Ballarat West and working as a horse collar maker, when he enlisted on 30th March 1916.. He joined the 39th Infantry Battalion, with Regimental No. 444. On 31st October 1917 he was killed in action at Armentieres, and buried in the Cite
Bonjean Military Cemetery, France.
