Biography

Arthur Treve Marsh (SN 616) was born and educated in Ballarat. When he enlisted on September 17th 1914 he was 22 years old, single and employed as a clerk. He was drafted to the 14th Infantry Battalion, embarking from Melbourne in December on board the Ulysses. He was killed in action at Gallipoli on 21st of August 1915 during the fierce fighting around Hill 60. He has no known grave and his name is recorded on the Australian Memorial at Lone Pine, Gallipoli, Turkey.
