Biography

Archibald 'Archie' Marstin was a single 39 year old miner at the time of his enlistment on the 28th of November 1914. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A46 Clan Mcgillivray on the 2nd of February 1915.
On the 3rd of May 1915, Archie was wounded in action with gunshot wounds to his upper extremities. On the 6th of May 1915, he was reported as having a humerus compound fracture.
On the 8th of October 1915, Archie embarked from Plymouth for Australia for muscular spinal paralysis. He returned to Australia on the 20th of November 1915, and was discharged as medically unfit on the 1st of May 1916.
