Hugh Ramsay Gilchrist Veitch enlisted in Ballarat, Victoria at the age of 24 on the 21st of March 1917. He had been born in Ballarat, Victoria, was single, and was employed as a Warehouseman. He volunteered and was stationed with the 3rd Pioneer Battalion, 7th Reinforcement with the Regimental number 3387. He was discharged and Returned to Australia on the 24th of December 1918. Tree number 2941.
