Biography

Born in Ballart, Victoria and a Bank Clerk by trade, Robert Hungerford Chapman was 20 years and single when enlisted on the 1st of August 1917 in the 21st Battalion, 20th Reinforcement, Australian Imperial Force, with the rank of Private, Number 6770A. His Unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A71 "Nestor" on the 21st of November 1917. Private admitted sick to Hurdcott Hospital, Fovant from the22nd of January 1918 to the 14th of May 1918. Embarked return to Australia per "Khyber" ex England on the 31st of March 1919. Disembarked at Sydney on the 16th of May 1919 and Discharged on the 9th of June 1919. Tree No. 3002a
