Sidney Kelly enlisted in Ballarat, Victoria at the age of 19 on the 25th of October 1917. He had been born in Albany, Western Australia, was single, and was employed as a Tinsmith. He volunteered and was stationed with the 39th Battalion, 8th Reinforcements with the Regimental number 3227. He was discharged and Returned to Australia on the 8th of January 1919. Tree number 3049.
