Biography

John Peter Henry Olden (SN 1140) was born in Ballarat but enlisted in Adelaide, S.A. on January 4th 1916. He was a photographer, single, and aged 44. He joined the 10th Infantry Battalion and embarked from Adelaide in June 1916. He died on November 11th 1916 of wounds received at Dernancourt, and is buried in the Dernancourt Communal Cemetery, France.

Two of his brothers Olof and Arthur also served in the AIF and are honoured with a tree in the Avenue.
