Biography

George Cowell enlisted in Ballarat, Victoria, at the age of 18 on the 7th of July 1915. He had been born in Ballarat, Victoria, was single, and was employed as a Braid Maker. He volunteered and was stationed with the 8th Battalion, 15th Reinforcement later transferring to the Australian Army Medical Corps with the Regimental number 4946. He was discharged and Returned to Australia on the 24th August 1918. He is buries in the Ballarat (New) Cemetery. Tree No. 3223.
