Biography

Phillip Zahnleiter was a bricklayer who was born in Ballarat and enlisted there on 11th November 1914. He was 24 and single. He served with the 5th Infantry Battalion, regimental No. 1440. He was killed in action on Gallipoli on the day after the Landing at Anzac Cove on the 26th April 1915. His name is on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.
