Biography

Herbert James Ratcliffe (Capt.) born at Geelong, had moved to England to study at the Royal Academy of Music. He served in the British Army with The Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment).

His brother Frederick was killed in action on July 19th 1916 in the fighting at Fromelles and is also honoured with a tree in the Avenue.
