Biography

Edward Charles Mullard (SN 3724) from Peel Street in Ballarat was a 28 year old labourer when he enlisted on December 18th 1917. On February 2nd 1918 he embarked aboard the Nestor and after some time in England he joined the 57th Battalion in France in July. On August 8th he was wounded in action, suffering a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was evacuated to the 20th Casualty Clearing Station, but he died of his wounds three days later on August 11th 1918. He was 29 years of age and is buried in the Vignacourt British Cemetery in France.
