William Williams (SN 1127) born in Sydney, was 21 years old when he enlisted in the Navy on January 20th 1911, with 'Advance Australia' tattooed on his chest. He was posted to numerous ships but served predominantly aboard the Australia where he was promoted to Leading Seaman during the war.
His brother Henry served in the AIF and is honoured with a tree in the Avenue.
