Biography

Edgar Penna was born in Ballarat and was a Labourer by trade when he enlisted in the 6th General (Victorian) Reinforcements on 28 March 1918 at the age of 19. His unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A30 Borda on 17 July 1918. He did not make it to France before the war ended and was in hospital suffering from influenza when the Armistice was signed. He returned home on the Suevic, disembarking at Melbourne on September 10th 1919.
