Percival David Jones (SN 60950) born at Narrandera N.S.W., was a 21 year old clerk when he enlisted in Ballarat on Anzac Day 1918. With the 9th General Service Reinforcements, he embarked aboard the Barambah on August 31st and sailed to England. By the time he reached England the guns had fallen silent. In January 1919 he was allotted to the 5th Infantry Battalion in France where he served for four months. He returned to Australia aboard the Suevic, disembarked at Melbourne on September 10th 1919 and was discharged on September 25th. He enlisted to serve again (SN N70575) during World War 2.

His brother Thomas was killed in action on August 7th 1915 at The Nek, Gallipoli and is also honoured with a tree in the Avenue.
