Charles Carmichael enlisted in Melbourne, Victoria at the age of 29 on the 9th of July 1916. He had been born in Ballarat, Victoria was single, and was employed as a Shearer. He volunteered and was stationed with the 14th Australian General Hospital later transferring to the 1st Light Horse Field Ambulance with the Regimental number 15097. He was discharged and Returned to Australia on the 13th of March 1919. Tree number 3754.
