Biography

Charles Augustus Wade was born in Ballarat East, Victoria, was single and a cabinet maker when he enlisted with the 6th Field Ambulance, Section A on 15 March 1915 at the age of 19. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A31 Ajana on 4 June 1915. According to his digitised records it appears he completed his service without major incident, illness or injury, returning home to Australia per the Kashmir on 9 March 1919.
