Born in Ballarat, Albert Lewis was a single 24 year old cook at the time of his enlistment in his hometown on the 10th of July 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A73 Commonwealth on the 26th of November 1915.
Albert returned to Australia on the 30th of April 1919 and was discharged as medically unfit on the 22nd of July 1919.
