Biography

James Patrick Morgan (SN 334) born at Ballarat, was a married 28 year old labourer when he enlisted at Ballarat on December 24th 1914 . He embarked aboard the Persic on May 28th1915 and sailed to Egypt for service with the 13th Light Horse Regiment. Aside from an ankle injury in May 1916, he completed his service safely. He returned to Australia aboard the Kildonian Castle, disembarked at Melbourne on May 7th1919 and was discharged on July 6th.

His brother Percival was killed in action on August 10th 1916 and is also honoured with a tree in the Avenue.
