Inez Elsie Peady was born in Ballarat and was a Trained Nurse when she enlisted in the Australian Army Nursing Service (A.A.N.S.) on 1 August 1919 at the age of 33. Her unit embarked at Sydney on 12 August 1919, disembarking at London on 12 October 1919. She returned home aboard the Themistocles and received her final discharge on 22 March 1920.
