Biography

Edward Williams (SN 4335) born in Ballarat, was a 30 year old moulder when he enlisted in Ballarat on July 14th 1915. He embarked aboard the Demosthenes on December 29th and in March 1916 he reached France to serve with the 14th Infantry Battalion. In August he suffered a severe gunshot wound to his calf and was evacuated to England. He was then returned to Australia aboard the Kanowna, disembarked at Melbourne on March 8th 1917 and was discharged medically unfit on June 13th.
