Biography

Henry Drummond (SN 4174) was born in Ballarat and educated at the Sebastopol and Redan State Schools. He was 23 years old, unmarried, and a carpenter when he enlisted on July 12th 1915 and was posted to the 14th Infantry Battalion. He embarked from Melbourne on board the Demosthenes in late December, travelling via Egypt to France. In one of the AIF’s earliest actions in France he was killed in action at Bois Grenier on July 3rd 1916. He is buried in the Brewery Orchard Communal Cemetery, Bois Grenier, France.
