Biography

Stanley George Mars (SN 748) was born in Castlemaine and enlisted at Castlemaine on September 14th 1914. He was 23 years old, single and working as a labourer. He was accepted into 14th Infantry Battalion and sailed from Melbourne in December on board the Ulysses. He was killed on April 27th 1915 during the confused fighting immediately after the Landing at Gallipoli. He is buried at Quinn's Post Cemetery, Gallipoli, Turkey.
