Born in Ballarat, Francis Carlyle Lamont was a married 28 year old cutter at the time of his enlistment on the 15th of July 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A40 Ceramic on the 23rd of November 1915.
Francis returned to Australia on the 18th of May 1919, and was discharged due to the termination of his enlistment period on the 27th of July 1919.
