Roy Ewart (SN 6915) was born in Upper Yarra, Victoria, but was a single, 19 year old coach painter when he enlisted in Ballarat on December 9th 1915. He joined the 3rd Division Signal Company in February 1916 before proceeding overseas, first to England then arriving in France April 1917 where he served until he returned to Australia onboard the Kagola in June 1919. He was discharged on July 27th 1919.
His brothers Eric and Harold also served in the AIF and are honoured with trees in the Avenue.
