Roy Ewart (SN 6915) was born in Upper Yarra, Victoria, was a single, 19 year old Coach Painter when he enlisted in Ballarat on 9th December 1915. On 18th February 1916 he was taken on strength with the 3rd Division Signal Company before proceeding overseas, first to England then arriving in France April 1917 where he served until he returned to Australia onboard the Kagola on the 20th June 1919. He was discharged on 27 July 1919.
His brothers Eric and Harold also served in the AIF and are honoured with a tree in the Avenue.
