Harold Thomas Ewart (Depot) was a married draughtsman living in Ballarat when he enlisted on July 7th 1915. He was training at the AIF Training Depot at Ascot Vale when he was admitted to the Alfred Hospital with epidemic meningitis. He died in the Alfred on August 25th 1915 and is buried in the Ballarat New Cemetery. He was 22 years of age.
His brothers Eric and Roy also served in the AIF and are honoured with trees in the Avenue.
