Harold Thomas Ewart , Regimental No. 1345, was training with the AIF Training Depot at Ascot Vale when he was admitted to the Alfred Hospital with epidemic meningitis. He was a married draughtsman living in Ballarat when he enlisted on 7th July 1915. He had been born in Gracedale, Upper Yarra. He died in the Alfred on 25th August 1915, and is buried in the Ballarat [New] Cemetery.
