Biography

Richard Reynolds Northcott was a 21 year old clerk when he enlisted on the 12th of March 1916. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A11 Ascanius on the 27th of May 1916. He was promoted to Lance Corporal on the 26th of July 1916, Corporal on the 1st of May 1917, and Sergeant on the 21st of August 1918. He returned to Australia on the 23rd of March 1919 and discharged on the 30th of April 1919 due to the termination of his enlistment period.
